The golf club has long been a feature to the Point Lonsdale Community since its opening in 1922. The new clubhouse provides state-of-the-art facilities and amenities for the enjoyment of all current and future members, as well as the general public.
The project was split into two separable portions; early works and main works. The early works involved bringing infrastructure services from the property boundary to the future site of the building and the forming of the road base into the site, whilst the main works involved of the construction of the new Clubhouse, surrounding hard landscaping works and children’s playground area.
The Clubhouse includes a Restaurant, Pro Shop, Members Lounge complete with a wood replace, commercial kitchen, kiosk, bars, multi-purpose function room, administration space and change room facilities including lockers.
The façade of the Clubhouse building has been constructed using a vast range locally sourced materials such as Cypress, render, standing seam metal cladding, high thermally and acoustically rated glazing, zinc and Glulam Timber columns and beams. The chosen render is of a rough-cast texture and earthy colour to represent the harsh cli faces of the surrounding coastline facing Bass Straight.
We are pleased to have again teamed up with Wood Marsh Architecture to deliver this project following the successful delivery of the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club.
The Club and its Members are thrilled with their new course and clubhouse which was completed in December 2020 after many years of patience to see the project through to fruition. The team at IBP were professional in their role and attentive to the needs of the Club at all stages of the project. IBP have built a magnificent clubhouse for today’s Members and the future generations of Lonsdale Links Members to enjoy and socialise with friends and family.
